Personal Training at The Swim Academy is the most effective way to learn new techniques and build confidence in the water. Through fully customized, one-on-one coaching, we help you swim better, faster, and with ease.

Each session is tailored to your level, goals, and learning style. Together with your dedicated coach, you’ll follow a structured plan focused on technique, rhythm, and steady progress.

Whether you’re learning to swim for the first time or refining advanced strokes, we guide you step by step. As your skills grow, so does your confidence — helping you feel calm, in control, and fully at home in the water.

Every training includes 45 minutes in the pool, with land-based activation to prepare your body and sharpen your focus. Train once, twice, or three times per week, and you’ll quickly notice real transformation.

No experience needed. Our Personal Training is designed for all levels — from complete beginners to advanced swimmers. The only requirements are that you’re 18+ and bring a positive attitude, commitment, and a willingness to learn.

  • Swimwear: Choose comfortable, performance-oriented swimwear. A one-piece swimsuit or swim trunks work best, as they provide proper support and freedom of movement.

  • Goggles: Essential for clear vision, eye protection, and better performance. We provide high-quality options on location — and soon also in our webshop.

  • Swim cap: Helps streamline your swim, reduce drag, and protect your hair. Available at our location and coming soon online.

  • Training tools: All additional equipment you might need (kickboards, fins, paddles) is available on-site.

  • A positive mindset: The best thing you can bring. We’ll take care of the rest.

Personal Training is available on most days, all year round. To get started, simply follow these steps:

1. Create an account
Download the TSA app and create your personal account. This gives you access to our user-friendly scheduling system, where you can view availability and manage your bookings.

2. Purchase your membership or single session
Before you can book a session, choose a membership (1x, 2x, or 3x per week) or purchase a single session. Memberships work with credits: for example, one session per week provides 4 credits every 4 weeks — or 8 credits for twice a week, and so on.

You can use your credits in two ways:

  • Flexible booking: choose time slots that fit your schedule and book sessions yourself via the app.

  • Fixed time slot: prefer a consistent weekly routine? Let your coach know during your first session. If available, we’ll reserve a fixed time for you — no need to book each week.

3. Choose your preferred time slot
Once you have credits, you can immediately start booking sessions in the app — unless you’ve arranged a fixed slot, in which case everything is scheduled for you automatically.

4. Join the waiting list (if needed)
If a time slot is fully booked, you can join the waiting list with a single tap in the app. You’ll automatically receive a notification when a spot becomes available.

Yes – all our prices are all-inclusive. Whether you swim 1, 2, or 3 times per week, your fee includes both your personal swim training and a full membership at Clubsportive Amsterdam Zuidas.

This means you get unlimited access to all their premium wellness, fitness, and swimming pool facilities – whenever you like. So outside of your sessions, you’re free to swim and practice as often as you want.

Already a member of Clubsportive?
Great – you’ll receive a discount on your Swim Academy membership. In that case, you remain responsible for your own Clubsportive membership.

Not a member yet? No problem – your Swim Academy plan includes everything.

Typically, you swim 1, 2 or 3 times per week – whatever fits your goals and schedule best. That way, you build rhythm and make real progress. Of course, life happens – and it’s totally fine to miss a week (or even a few).

If you skip a week, you can simply make up for it by swimming more often in the weeks that follow.

The rules are simple:

  • You can cancel or reschedule your session free of charge up to 48 hours in advance.

  • Missed sessions can be made up within a 4-week period.

  • Credits cannot be carried over into the next month.

How long does it take to learn to swim?
That depends on your starting level, how often you train, and whether you’re able to practise independently. Nationally, most adults take around 1 to 1.5 years to learn to swim.

With personal training twice per week at The Swim Academy, many swimmers reach a confident level in just 3 to 6 months. In group lessons, this typically takes 6 to 12 months.

If you can add one or two independent practice sessions per week, your progress will accelerate even more. All our exercises are designed to help you become independent as quickly as possible. Consistency and routine are key — and our method gives you clear, motivating insight into your progress.

And of course, we’re always here to support you along the way.

Is Personal Training suitable if I’ve never swum before?
Absolutely. Our coaches work with all levels — from absolute beginners to competitive swimmers. We always start with a short conversation to understand your goals and experience, so we can tailor the session to your needs and help you feel comfortable from the very beginning.

Can I choose my coach?
Yes — when booking your sessions in the app, you’ll always see which coach is teaching that time slot. While availability depends on the schedule, we aim to match you with a coach who suits your goals and communication style.

Not completely satisfied after your first session? No problem — our Swim Instructor Guarantee allows you to either switch to another coach or get a refund for your unused credits. Your satisfaction comes first.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?
We provide high-quality training materials at our locations. You’re welcome to try different gear during your session, and if you like, you can purchase your own goggles or accessories directly on-site or through our webshop.

For comfort, we recommend bringing your own swimwear and goggles if you already have them.
